What Is Helix RADE?

See the comparison of Helix database utilities.

Quickly create your own applications. Helix RADE (Rapid Application Development Environment) is a powerful relational database tool. With it, you can quickly build custom applications by dragging icons in an environment similar to the Macintosh Finder. It's much like creating flowcharts. Requirements are a Power Mac, a little time and a degree of imagination.

Helix RADE uses graphical objects rather than textual command lines to create applications. It allows simultaneous development of database front and back ends. Besides the engine, data and structure is stored within one icon. Helix is fully relational and allows Posting (ability to transfer data between internal Relations), BLOB (Binary Large Object) internal/external document storage, and conditional color. Supported data types include: text, styled text, keywords, numbers, fixed points, flags, dates, documents, pictures.

After developing an application with Helix RADE, Client and Server products are available for local area networks. Third party products can extend the reach to remote sites -- even to other computer platforms. Use Evalix (a native Helix application) to coach you through proper database construction and demonstrate advanced features within Helix. An online introductory training class is available for intermediate and new Helix users.
